Our Story 

Just a quick insight to who we are at Mayers Well Poultry …..

My name is Machelle and along with my partner Graham and our daughter Mikayla we are proud owners of Mayers Well Poultry.

In 2019 we purchased an old 53 acre ex cane farm , situated in Mount Ossa in Central Queensland , that shared the back boundary with a local salt water creek. We are very keen on our fishing , so with that in mind when this property came on the market  for sale,  we jumped at the oportunity . In our eyes we had the best of both worlds ,  with the country and sea right at our doorstep.

Our plan was to live off the land sustainably and have a small flock of chickens for eggs , and run a few head of cattle , as well as have a small vegetable patch to feed our family .

Fast forward 4 years and we currently have a small herd of 20 Droughtmaster Cattle including a bull and  approximately 1000 chickens from day old to 18 weeks and supply customers throughout the region with chickens as backyard laying hens. We also supply day old meat chickens  .

We pride ourselves with having  ” Happy Healthy Hens’ with lovely natures to supply to our customers. We also believe in giving the best customer service possible  and especially love helping the newcomers who have never owned chickens before on their journey as proud chicken owners themselves.

We look forward to growing our business with the Mackay/Whitsunday and surrounding regions and are always more than happy to answer any questions or help out where we can.
